The MICROVERTER® 300Vin, 15V @ 20A Out, UV300-15-164LF

San Jose, California. RO Associates, Inc. announces a new model in its high efficiency, high current, MicroVerter® UV300-164LF dc-dc converter series: the UV300-15-164LF. The UV300-15-164LF produces up to 20A of low noise 15V power from a 300V nominal (220Vdc to 400Vdc) power source.

The UV300-15-164LF model uses RO's unique MicroVerter® "3/4 brick" package with a form factor of 2.4 x 3.6 x 0.5 inches. The MicroVerter package includes an integral thermal interface (baseplate) and is encapsulated with a soft, thermally conductive compound. This results in an extremeley low thermal resistance between the components and the environment, and enables the module to operate at full output power over a baseplate temperature range of -40°C to +100°C.

The UV300-164LF series provides many operational and protection features. The operational features include logic On/Off control, trimmable output voltage, remote sense compensation for interconnect (I2R) losses, and multiple converter paralleling with current sharing. The protection features include over-temperature protection (OTP), non-shutdown "clamp" style over-voltage protection (OVP), and constant current mode over-current protection (OCP). These modules are designed for auto-recovery from all protection modes. The UV300-164LF series utilizes 370kHz constant frequency operation for reduced noise and a consistant, easy to filter spectral signature. An optional synchronization feature is available to allow adjustment of the operating frequency from 330-400kHz.

Overall, the MicroVerter® UV300-164LF Series combines high efficiency electrical power design and advanced thermal management techniques to produce small, ruggedized DC/DC converters with reduced temperature rise and increasted reliability. This series is ideal for use in rugged and high reliability applications requiring baseplate cooled operation such as military systems, RF / power amplifiers, semiconductor manufacturing and industrial control. These modules are manufactured using a lead free solder process, are fully RoHS compliant, and are designed for international safety approvals and CE Mark compliance.
